Earth, My Body

26 August - 31 August

People jumping on the beach

Earth, my body

Join us for a week of embodiment, creativity, nature connection and reflection. Begin your day with guided movement and dance*, follow this with immersion in the beautiful nature at Camas and finish the day with reflection, reconnection and honouring of our bodies and the earth. This week is dedicated to remembering the body as sacred through relationship with the earth.

We will be immersed in the rhythms of community life at Camas, sharing ‘common tasks’ such as helping in the garden, washing up, opportunities to help with cooking. This allows us to experience what it means to be part of the wider body of community, both in work and play, to move with, sing with and share common life with others.

Week Includes:

Somatic Movement, Yoga Nidra, Mindfulness, Guided Ritual, Devotional Singing, Dance and Improvisation practices alongside Camas’s outdoor activities and immersion in the wild landscape of Camas Tuath.

*No creative or dance experience needed, this week is about finding your natural way of moving and creating and letting go of ‘right or wrong’ ways of moving/being.

Led by Fiona McFarlane (Camas Coordinator and Dance/Movement Therapist). Assisted by Cate Anderson.
