HOLY WEEK WITH THE IONA COMMUNITY: PALM SUNDAY
The necessary closure of public places of worship and the restrictions across the globe on movement and gathering together, means that for many of us this Holy Week is very different from the ones we are used to. However we will still be following our usual custom of marking Holy Week by sharing material here and on our other on-line platforms.
Although we cannot welcome visitors to Iona, or hold our usual services, the staff there have recorded a variety of prayers and readings in different locations around the island which we will be sharing over the course of the week. There will also be postings each day – in different formats (audios, podcasts, videos, reflections, prayer cards) – to help you mark the different moments of the journey with Christ through Holy week at home whether you are with others or by yourself.
If you have not had chance to participate in a Palm Sunday service (or indeed if you have and want some more!) then we are sharing a number of – very different – services led by Community Members of from Churches with whom we have links. We hope will find something here to bring encouragement, provoke reflection, give a sense of connection in the midst of isolation – whatever it is you need for this moment.
A Service of Celebration from BBC Radio Wales led by Iona Community Member and lecturer at South Wales Baptist College, the Rev. Dr Craig Gardiner.

A Service with a Liturgy of the Passion (read by young people) with hymns and organ music from Wellington Church, Glasgow
