‘Trees in Faith & Fable’

with Bob Gilbert

Wednesday 9th June, 7-8pm

Ever since humans have recorded their story, trees have been afforded a spiritual and religious significance. Today’s ColumbaFest session looks at the ways in which trees have become intertwined with world faiths, the Biblical narrative and popular folklore. Led by Bob Gilbert, environmentalist and author of ‘Ghost Trees’ – who will be Zooming in from Iona! To register (all events are free) and receive Zoom link visit https://www.wildgoose.scot/…/columbafest-2021-free-ticket/

COLUMBAFEST is our annual WeeWONDERBOX celebration of Faith, Culture, Politics and Creativity. Covid means our festival has to take a slightly different form this year – but the good news is…you can join us from wherever you are!

All sorts of good stuff is going on around our theme this year of Roots, Roads, and Rivers – talks, walks, liturgy, a Ceilidh, Sunday Papers, and a tenx9 session with Pádraig Ó Tuama and Paul Doran. There are also downloadable resources for doing reflective walks wherever you are.

To see the full programme, access resources and register for online sessions (all free) visit https://www.wildgoose.scot/weewonderbox/columbafest/
