Whether you’re studying\, working\, navigating change or simply wondering what comes next\, this week offers space to pause\, reflect and be part of a supportive community. \nTogether\, we’ll explore how creativity\, imagination and collective action can help us respond to the challenges of our time. Through conversation\, workshops and shared experiences\, we’ll engage with questions around faith\, justice\, identity\, community and change\, while learning from one another’s perspectives and experiences. \nSet within the unique rhythm of life at Iona Abbey\, this young adults programme offers opportunities to build meaningful friendships\, enjoy time in nature and take part in community life. There will be space for both laughter and reflection\, serious conversation and simple enjoyment of being together. \nAt its heart\, this week is about discovering hope—not as wishful thinking\, but as something we can nurture\, practise and share with others. If you’re looking for connection\, inspiration and a chance to imagine new possibilities\, you’ll find a warm welcome here. \n\n\n\n\nMeet the Programme Leader(s)\n\n\n\n\nGrace Pengelly is a writer\, editor and facilitator from Somerset\, UK. Previously a Commissioning Editor for HarperCollins\, she now works as an independent editor for authors and publishing houses. Fascinated by the intersections of culture\, politics\, art and faith\, she publishes essays on her newsletter\, The Murmuration. She regularly appears on podcasts\, in print and at festivals as a speaker. Grace has two small children and lives in Somerset. \n  \nIndigo Maynard Watts is a writer and artist from Gloucestershire\, with a particular interest in the political and spiritual nuances of British counterculture. She has led workshops across a range of festivals including Greenbelt\, and is a member of the Iona Community’s Young Adults Group. \n  \n  \n  \n\n\n\n\nWhat to expect\n\n\n\n\nEach day will combine conversation\, creativity\, reflection and community as we explore what it means to find hope and build change in today’s world. Through workshops\, discussions and shared experiences\, we’ll engage with new ideas\, learn from one another and consider how we can respond to the challenges and opportunities around us. \nAlongside the programme sessions\, you’ll share in the daily rhythm of life at Iona Abbey\, including worship\, meals and community life. There will also be time to explore the island\, enjoy the natural beauty of Iona and continue conversations beyond the formal programme. \nThis young adults retreat is designed to be participatory\, welcoming and thought-provoking. Whether you’re bringing questions\, ideas or simply a desire to connect with others\, you’ll find space to reflect\, contribute and be inspired. Together\, we’ll explore faith and creativity\, community and hope while building meaningful connections with people from a range of backgrounds and experiences. \n\n\nKey Information\n\n\n\n\nBefore booking\, it’s helpful to know that this programme is designed for young adults aged 18–35. For some\, it will feel like a quiet retreat in the UK. For others\, it is an Iona retreat rooted in community\, worship and the shared rhythm of Abbey life. \nYou will share in the life of the Abbey through worship\, conversation and guided reflections\, alongside time on your own. Some people come for stillness and rest\, while others come for community and connection. \nSet on the Isle of Iona\, this retreat in Scotland gives you time to explore the island’s wild landscape\, or simply pause and be. \n\n\n\n\nMeet the Programme Leader(s)\n\n\n\n\nYour week will be guided by members of the Iona Abbey team\, who hold the rhythm of community life\, worship and shared activities throughout your stay. \n\n\n\n\nWhat to expect\n\n\n\n\nEach day follows a gentle rhythm of work\, rest and worship. \nYou will have the opportunity to take part in guided reflections\, small group conversations and the weekly pilgrimage on Iona. There is also plenty of time to walk\, rest\, pray or simply be. \nThis is a retreat with community\, so you will share meals in the refectory and take part in simple shared tasks alongside other guests. How do we create spaces of welcome\, belonging and compassion in a world that can often feel divided? This peace and justice retreat invites participants to explore these questions through creativity\, conversation and shared experience. \nLed by the UNESCO Chair for Refugee Integration team\, the week draws on practices and stories from around the world that help people cultivate joy\, resilience and connection in challenging circumstances. Through reflection\, discussion and creative engagement\, we’ll explore how communities can nurture refuge and sanctuary\, build relationships across differences and respond to hardship with courage and hope. \nThis programme is for anyone interested in peacebuilding\, community\, social justice\, hospitality or the role of creativity in personal and collective wellbeing. \nWhether you’re involved in community work\, education\, faith communities or simply looking for a space to reflect and reconnect\, you’ll find opportunities to learn from others and contribute your own experiences. \nAt its heart\, this social justice retreat is an invitation to discover how joy can be more than a fleeting emotion. Together\, we’ll explore how joy can become a source of strength\, resistance and renewal\, helping us imagine and build more compassionate futures. \n\n\n\n\nMeet the Programme Leader(s)\nThe UNESCO Chair for Refugee Integration brings together researchers\, practitioners and community leaders working to support refugee inclusion\, belonging and social cohesion. Drawing on experiences from around the world\, the team explores how creativity\, community and shared humanity can help build more welcoming and resilient societies. \n  \n\n\n\n\n \nAlison Phipps is UNESCO Chair for Refugee Integration through Education\, Languages and Arts at the University of Glasgow where she is Professor of Languages and Intercultural Studies and a Member of the Iona Community for 25 years. \n  \n  \n \nDr Tawona Sitholé is Lecturer in Creative Practice Education within the UNESCO Chair in Refugee Integration through Education\, Languages and the Arts. In research and teaching he is part of CLIP (Culture\, Literacies\, Inclusion and Pedagogy). \n  \n  \n‘Better known as Ganyamatope (my ancestral family name) my heritage inspires me to make connections with other people through creativity\, and the natural outlook to learn. Educated by assigned teachers through the schooling system\, and by natural teachers through ‘pasichigare’ (my ancestors lifestyle)\, I benefit from having more than one way of knowing/learning. As a result\, I find myself playing many roles in creativity and education. I am a poet\, playwright\, storyteller and musician.’ \n  \n \nDr Hyab Yohannes is a Lecturer in Forced Migration and Decolonial Education with the UNESCO Chair RIELA at the University of Glasgow. Hyab’s research interests include poetics\, decoloniality\, and political theories across physical\, onto-epistemic\, spatio-temporal\, and juridico-political dimensions. He advises UN bodies on human trafficking and slavery and is a survivor of torture and trafficking himself and medal recipient for his public engagement work with refugees from the Royal Society of Edinburgh. \n  \n  \n\n\n\n\nWhat to expect\n\n\n\n\nEach day will combine conversation\, reflection and creative activities as we explore practices that help sustain hope\, joy and connection in challenging times. \nThrough storytelling\, discussion\, arts-based activities and shared learning\, we’ll engage with ideas and experiences from different communities and cultures around the world. \nAlongside the programme sessions\, you’ll share in the daily rhythm of life at Iona Abbey\, including worship\, meals and community life. There will also be time for personal reflection\, informal conversations and enjoying the beauty and peace of the island. \nThis peace and justice retreat is designed to be participatory\, welcoming and thought-provoking. Together\, we’ll explore how creativity\, community and refuge and sanctuary can help nurture hope and resilience\, while discovering practical ways to respond to the challenges of our world with compassion and courage. \n\n\nKey Information\n\n\n\n\nBefore booking\, it’s helpful to know that this programme combines reflection\, discussion and creative activities with the shared rhythm of life at Iona Abbey. \nTogether\, we’ll explore themes of joy\, belonging\, hospitality and justice while learning from experiences and practices drawn from communities around the world. \n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Book Refuge & The Resistance of Joy” style=”custom” custom_text=”#666666″ css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbooking-directly.com%2Fwidgets%2FZ8ayvaEvw2SsrbCpGHLzeQZxQGqxQJy163aSHXVJnHbgCb53vffml4WKihlt5%2Fproperties%2Funit-selection%3Fsearch_stay_dates%3D%257B%2522checkInDate%2522%253A%25222027-08-28%2522%252C%2522checkOutDate%2522%253A%25222027-09-03%2522%257D%26search_occupancies%3D%255B%257B%2522numberOfAdults%2522%253A2%252C%2522children%2522%253A%255B%255D%257D%255D|target:_blank” el_class=”tealbtn generalbtn”][vc_separator css=””][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”none” css=”” el_class=”largeheading navy_title”]\nBooking Information\n[/vc_column_text][vc_toggle title=”What’s included” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”]Your stay at Iona Abbey includes everything you need to fully take part in the experience: \n+ Accommodation in the Abbey \n+ Breakfast\, lunch and dinner each day \n+ All programme sessions \n+ Music\, art and craft opportunities \n+ Guided walks[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Pricing & discounts” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”] Prices vary depending on the type of week and length of stay. \n\nStandard week (6 nights): from £960 (adult)\n\nReduced rates available from £480\n\n\nChildren aged 5–15: £480\nChildren under 5: free (contact abbeybooking@iona.org.uk)\n\nA 20% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. \nWe offer a 50% reduced rate for eligible UK residents\, including: \n+ Students \n+ Those on state benefits or pension \n+ Those earning below the real living wage \n+ Refugees\, asylum seekers\, or those experiencing homelessness \nA 15% family discount is automatically applied for groups of four or more (where adults pay full price). \nWe also have an Access Fund to support those who would not otherwise be able to attend. \nLearn more about financial support and how to apply.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Food & dietary” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”]All meals are provided\, with a focus on: \n+ Healthy\, seasonal\, and locally sourced ingredients \n+ Primarily vegetarian meals (with one optional meat meal per week) \nWe can cater for most dietary requirements (including vegan\, gluten-free\, and dairy-free)\, but please let us know in advance.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Accommodation” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”]+ 21 guest rooms (single\, twin\, triple and family rooms) \n+ Some rooms are accessible\, with lift access available to certain areas \n+ Guests may be asked to share a room\, particularly if travelling alone \n+ Families of up to four can usually be accommodated in one room \nIf you have specific requirements (e.g. accessibility or room type)\, please let us know when booking. \nFor full room details and accessibility information\, see our Accommodation FAQs.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Support our Access Fund” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”]While you are making your own booking\, please consider making a donation towards the Access Fund if you are able to\, which allows financially disadvantaged people to stay at Iona Abbey. These small rhythms help shape the life of the community during your stay. \nWorship in the Abbey Church is at the heart of each day\, and you are warmly invited to take part. For those seeking a reflective experience or a Christian pilgrimage experience in the UK\, Time and Space offers a gentle pattern of belonging\, rest and renewal. \n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Book Time and Space” style=”custom” custom_text=”#666666″ css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbooking-directly.com%2Fwidgets%2FZ8ayvaEvw2SsrbCpGHLzeQZxQGqxQJy163aSHXVJnHbgCb53vffml4WKihlt5%2Fproperties%2Funit-selection%3Fsearch_stay_dates%3D%257B%2522checkInDate%2522%253A%25222027-09-04%2522%252C%2522checkOutDate%2522%253A%25222027-09-10%2522%257D%26search_occupancies%3D%255B%257B%2522numberOfAdults%2522%253A2%252C%2522children%2522%253A%255B%255D%257D%255D|target:_blank|rel:nofollow” el_class=”tealbtn generalbtn”][vc_separator css=””][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”none” css=”” el_class=”largeheading navy_title”]\nBooking Information\n[/vc_column_text][vc_toggle title=”What’s included” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”]Your stay at Iona Abbey includes everything you need to fully take part in the experience: \n+ Accommodation in the Abbey \n+ Breakfast\, lunch and dinner each day \n+ All programme sessions \n+ Music\, art and craft opportunities \n+ Guided walks[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Pricing & discounts” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”] Prices vary depending on the type of week and length of stay. Whether you’re at the beginning of your spiritual journey or have been walking it for many years\, the week offers an opportunity to pause\, reflect and reconnect with what matters most. \nTogether\, we’ll explore a range of practices that support prayer\, reflection and spiritual growth\, drawing on Christian tradition as well as creative and embodied approaches to faith. Through conversation\, journalling\, art\, movement\, music and time in nature\, participants will discover different ways of engaging with God\, themselves and the world around them. \nThis Christian retreat is designed to be welcoming and accessible\, creating space for both personal reflection and shared learning. There is no expectation of prior experience or expertise—only a willingness to be present\, curious and open to the journey. \nAt its heart\, the week is an invitation to explore Christian spirituality in a deeper and more intentional way. In the rhythm of life at Iona Abbey\, you’ll find space to listen\, learn and discover practices that can continue to nourish and sustain you long after you leave the island. \n\n\n\n\nMeet the Programme Leader(s)\nAli and Ralph are both experienced spiritual accompaniers. They met whilst working on Iona some years ago and find that the vagaries of ordinary life are teaching them to find God in what past mystics have sometimes called the dazzling darkness. They have more questions than answers and are excited to journey with you. \n\nAli Marshall is a Member of the Iona Community and an experienced spiritual accompanier. Rooted in the realities of everyday life\, family and community\, she is passionate about helping people explore faith\, reflection and the presence of God in ordinary moments. \n  \n  \n\nRalph Patrick is an Associate Member of the Iona Community and an experienced spiritual accompanier. A lover of God\, people and nature\, he enjoys accompanying others as they explore questions of faith\, meaning and what it means to walk The Way in today’s world. \n  \n  \n  \n\n\n\n\nWhat to expect\n\n\n\n\nEach day will offer opportunities to explore prayer\, reflection and spiritual practice in a supportive and welcoming environment. Through guided sessions\, conversation and personal reflection\, we’ll engage with a variety of approaches that help us become more attentive to God\, ourselves and the world around us. \nThe programme will include practices such as journalling\, creative reflection\, movement\, music\, time in nature and shared discussion. Alongside these activities\, there will be space for silence\, personal prayer and exploring questions of faith at your own pace. \nAs part of life at Iona Abbey\, you’ll share in daily worship\, meals and community life\, while also having time to enjoy the beauty and peace of the island. This reflective retreat is designed to be gentle\, thoughtful and accessible\, offering space to deepen your spiritual life and explore Christian spirituality in ways that are meaningful and sustainable beyond your time on Iona. \n\n\nKey Information\n\n\n\n\nBefore booking\, it’s helpful to know that this programme is designed for anyone who would like to explore prayer\, reflection and spiritual practices in a welcoming and supportive environment. No previous experience of retreats\, spiritual direction or formal spiritual practice is required. \nThe week combines guided sessions\, personal reflection and community life\, creating space to slow down\, ask questions and discover practices that can support your faith and wellbeing beyond your time on Iona. \n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Book Followers of The Way” style=”custom” custom_text=”#666666″ css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbooking-directly.com%2Fwidgets%2FZ8ayvaEvw2SsrbCpGHLzeQZxQGqxQJy163aSHXVJnHbgCb53vffml4WKihlt5%2Fproperties%2Funit-selection%3Fsearch_stay_dates%3D%257B%2522checkInDate%2522%253A%25222027-09-11%2522%252C%2522checkOutDate%2522%253A%25222027-09-17%2522%257D%26search_occupancies%3D%255B%257B%2522numberOfAdults%2522%253A2%252C%2522children%2522%253A%255B%255D%257D%255D|target:_blank” el_class=”tealbtn generalbtn”][vc_separator css=””][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”none” css=”” el_class=”largeheading navy_title”]\nBooking Information\n[/vc_column_text][vc_toggle title=”What’s included” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”]Your stay at Iona Abbey includes everything you need to fully take part in the experience: \n+ Accommodation in the Abbey \n+ Breakfast\, lunch and dinner each day \n+ All programme sessions \n+ Music\, art and craft opportunities \n+ Guided walks[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Pricing & discounts” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”] Prices vary depending on the type of week and length of stay. In a world that can often feel shaped by expectations\, labels and limitations\, this week creates space to embrace the richness of human experience and explore how identity\, faith and spirituality can flourish together. \nThis LGBTQ+ faith retreat is for anyone who wants to reflect on questions of identity\, belonging\, spirituality and community in an open\, welcoming and affirming environment. Whether you identify as LGBTQ+ yourself\, are exploring questions of identity or are interested in learning alongside others\, you’ll find space for honest conversation\, creativity and reflection. \nThroughout the week\, we’ll explore how ritual\, storytelling\, creativity and shared experiences can help us make sense of who we are and how we relate to one another. Together\, we’ll celebrate diversity\, nurture connection and create opportunities for personal and collective reflection. \nAt its heart\, this LGBTQ+ Christian retreat is about joy: not as an escape from life’s challenges\, but as a source of strength\, resilience and hope. Set within the welcoming community of Iona Abbey\, the programme offers space to connect with others\, deepen your understanding of queer spirituality and discover new ways of living with authenticity and joy. \n\n\n\n\nMeet the Programme Leader(s)\n\n\n\n\n \nMaxwell Reay is a gender queer trans man. He has been clergy in Metropolitan Community Church since 1993. He volunteered with MCC Bath\, MCC North London and MCC Edinburgh. He served as an Elder in MCC from 2021 to 2024. He was a Healthcare Chaplain in the NHS for 18 years. These days\, he leads “Our Tribe”\, the LGBTQI+ ministry at Augustine United Church\, Edinburgh. This is a joint ministry with The United Reformed Church and MCC. \nLewis Reay is a queer trans man who lives with his husband of 30 plus years. He is a liturgist and has been published in the United Reformed Prayer Handbook for several years. He writes prayers for use in worship services as well as for a variety of personal and community activities. He is a member of Metropolitan Community Church and Augustine United Church\, Edinburgh. \n\n\n\n\nWhat to expect\n\n\n\n\nEach day will offer a mix of conversation\, creativity\, reflection and shared experiences as we explore themes of identity\, faith\, spirituality and belonging. Through workshops\, storytelling\, discussion and creative activities\, participants will have opportunities to engage with new ideas\, share experiences and learn from one another. \nAlongside the programme sessions\, you’ll share in the daily rhythm of life at Iona Abbey\, including worship\, meals and community life. There will also be time for personal reflection\, informal conversations and enjoying the beauty and peace of the island. \nThe tone of the week is welcoming\, inclusive and hopeful. This LGBTQ+ faith retreat is designed to create a supportive environment where participants can explore questions of identity and spirituality\, celebrate diversity and experience the joy of community in all its richness. \n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Book Queer Joy: Identity\, Faith and Ritual” style=”custom” custom_text=”#666666″ css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbooking-directly.com%2Fwidgets%2FZ8ayvaEvw2SsrbCpGHLzeQZxQGqxQJy163aSHXVJnHbgCb53vffml4WKihlt5%2Fproperties%2Funit-selection%3Fsearch_stay_dates%3D%257B%2522checkInDate%2522%253A%25222027-09-18%2522%252C%2522checkOutDate%2522%253A%25222027-09-24%2522%257D%26search_occupancies%3D%255B%257B%2522numberOfAdults%2522%253A2%252C%2522children%2522%253A%255B%255D%257D%255D|target:_blank” el_class=”tealbtn generalbtn”][vc_separator css=””][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”none” css=”” el_class=”largeheading navy_title”]\nBooking Information\n[/vc_column_text][vc_toggle title=”What’s included” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”]Your stay at Iona Abbey includes everything you need to fully take part in the experience: \n+ Accommodation in the Abbey \n+ Breakfast\, lunch and dinner each day \n+ All programme sessions \n+ Music\, art and craft opportunities \n+ Guided walks[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Pricing & discounts” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”] Prices vary depending on the type of week and length of stay. If you look in the first chapters of the book of Genesis\, you will find all these. But what have they to do with the earth’s ecosystem\, the rise of new empires\, the role of women and international relations? \nJohn Bell believes these ancient stories have profound truths which speak into the age we live in and the faith we share. \n\n\nCosts: 6 Nights: £960 or £480 concession.\nWhere: The Iona Abbey\nWhen: 25.09.2027 – 01.10.2027\nLed by: John Bell\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Book Adventures in Eden” style=”custom” custom_text=”#666666″ css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbooking-directly.com%2Fwidgets%2FZ8ayvaEvw2SsrbCpGHLzeQZxQGqxQJy163aSHXVJnHbgCb53vffml4WKihlt5%2Fproperties%2Funit-selection%3Fsearch_stay_dates%3D%257B%2522checkInDate%2522%253A%25222027-09-25%2522%252C%2522checkOutDate%2522%253A%25222027-10-01%2522%257D%26search_occupancies%3D%255B%257B%2522numberOfAdults%2522%253A2%252C%2522children%2522%253A%255B%255D%257D%255D|target:_blank” el_class=”tealbtn generalbtn”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_separator css=””][vc_column_text css=””]\n\n\nAbout the programme\n\n\n\n\nAdventures in Eden\, a week led by John Bell\, is a faith-based learning experience combines worship\, teaching\, and reflective pilgrimage-style reflection time\, helping participants engage deeply with Scripture and contemporary life. \n\n\n\n\nMeet the Programme Leader(s)\n\n\n\n\n \nJohn Bell is an ordained minister\, a member of the Iona Community and a writer and occasional broadcaster. He is a much-loved contributor at Greenbelt Festival. He teaches and lectures worldwide on issues of faith\, social justice\, music and liturgy. \n  \n  \n\n  \n\n\n\n\nWhat to expect\n\n\n\n\nEach day follows a gentle rhythm of work\, rest and worship. \nYou will have the opportunity to take part in guided reflections\, small group conversations and the weekly pilgrimage on Iona. There is also plenty of time to walk\, rest\, pray or simply be. \nThis is a reflective pilgrimage experience with community\, so you will share meals in the refectory and take part in simple shared tasks alongside other guests. \n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Book Adventures in Eden” style=”custom” custom_text=”#666666″ css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbooking-directly.com%2Fwidgets%2FZ8ayvaEvw2SsrbCpGHLzeQZxQGqxQJy163aSHXVJnHbgCb53vffml4WKihlt5%2Fproperties%2Funit-selection%3Fsearch_stay_dates%3D%257B%2522checkInDate%2522%253A%25222027-09-25%2522%252C%2522checkOutDate%2522%253A%25222027-10-01%2522%257D%26search_occupancies%3D%255B%257B%2522numberOfAdults%2522%253A2%252C%2522children%2522%253A%255B%255D%257D%255D|target:_blank” el_class=”tealbtn generalbtn”][vc_separator css=””][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”none” css=”” el_class=”largeheading navy_title”]\nBooking Information\n[/vc_column_text][vc_toggle title=”What’s included” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”]Your stay at Iona Abbey includes everything you need to fully take part in the experience: \n+ Accommodation in the Abbey \n+ Breakfast\, lunch and dinner each day \n+ All programme sessions \n+ Music\, art and craft opportunities \n+ Guided walks[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Pricing & discounts” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”] Prices vary depending on the type of week and length of stay. \n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Book Time and Space” style=”custom” custom_text=”#666666″ css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbooking-directly.com%2Fwidgets%2FZ8ayvaEvw2SsrbCpGHLzeQZxQGqxQJy163aSHXVJnHbgCb53vffml4WKihlt5%2Fproperties%2Funit-selection%3Fsearch_stay_dates%3D%257B%2522checkInDate%2522%253A%25222027-10-02%2522%252C%2522checkOutDate%2522%253A%25222027-10-08%2522%257D%26search_occupancies%3D%255B%257B%2522numberOfAdults%2522%253A2%252C%2522children%2522%253A%255B%255D%257D%255D|target:_blank|rel:nofollow” el_class=”tealbtn generalbtn”][vc_separator css=””][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”none” css=”” el_class=”largeheading navy_title”]\nBooking Information\n[/vc_column_text][vc_toggle title=”What’s included” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”]Your stay at Iona Abbey includes everything you need to fully take part in the experience: \n+ Accommodation in the Abbey \n+ Breakfast\, lunch and dinner each day \n+ All programme sessions \n+ Music\, art and craft opportunities \n+ Guided walks[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Pricing & discounts” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”] Prices vary depending on the type of week and length of stay. \n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Book Time and Space” style=”custom” custom_text=”#666666″ css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbooking-directly.com%2Fwidgets%2FZ8ayvaEvw2SsrbCpGHLzeQZxQGqxQJy163aSHXVJnHbgCb53vffml4WKihlt5%2Fproperties%2Funit-selection%3Fsearch_stay_dates%3D%257B%2522checkInDate%2522%253A%25222027-10-16%2522%252C%2522checkOutDate%2522%253A%25222027-10-22%2522%257D%26search_occupancies%3D%255B%257B%2522numberOfAdults%2522%253A2%252C%2522children%2522%253A%255B%255D%257D%255D|target:_blank|rel:nofollow” el_class=”tealbtn generalbtn”][vc_separator css=””][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”none” css=”” el_class=”largeheading navy_title”]\nBooking Information\n[/vc_column_text][vc_toggle title=”What’s included” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”]Your stay at Iona Abbey includes everything you need to fully take part in the experience: \n+ Accommodation in the Abbey \n+ Breakfast\, lunch and dinner each day \n+ All programme sessions \n+ Music\, art and craft opportunities \n+ Guided walks[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Pricing & discounts” css_animation=”none” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23568ea4″ custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”] Prices vary depending on the type of week and length of stay. SUMMARY:Stephen Wright - Contemplation in Community
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]We invite you to join us for this special week of contemplation in community. This week is led by Stephen Wright\, a member of the Iona Community. It is intended for those who are comfortable with deep spiritual inquiry and ready to go deeper along that particular Way known as contemplation. Stephen will offer an insight into the Heartfulness nature of contemplation\, how to be open to it\, and how to live the contemplative Way in all the gifts and challenges of our everyday lives. \nOur time here will centre around an intensive engagement with practices that support contemplation. There will be daily periods of group work\, reflection and conversation\, combined with long periods of solitude\, quiet and stillness. Both will aid the inner prayerful and reflective journey that supports our longing for relationship in the One in whom ‘we live and move and have our being’. \nWe will be further nurtured by the sacred presence of Iona Abbey and its community\, the elemental beauty of this special island and its long history of attentiveness to the sacred. \nThere will also be moments of grounding our insights by helping with the everyday tasks of living in community. The deep inner life does not have to be separate from the outer. \nShared expectations and practicalities \nSome meals and interim activities will be taken in quiet\, but there will be opportunities\, for those who wish\, to enjoy social time and conversation. \nAccommodation will be offered as single occupancy rooms at Iona Abbey. Private time is an essential component of this programme. However\, we can offer room sharing if you wish to bring a close friend or partner also wishing to join the course. Please note that the booking system can sometimes not indicate the availability of single rooms – please get in touch if you encounter problems. \n  \nProgramme Leader \n \nLed by Stephen Wright\, this programme will draw upon the collaborative work of the Sacred Space Foundation and the Diocese of Carlisle in the St. Kentigern School and Community for Contemplatives. Stephen is a Member of the Iona Community\, a director of the Sacred Space Foundation\, an ordained Interfaith minister and spiritual director. \n  \n  \n  \n  \nCosts \n6 Nights: £960 per adult\, £480 concession. \n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”Book here” style=”custom” custom_text=”#666666″ css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbooking-directly.com%2Fwidgets%2FZ8ayvaEvw2SsrbCpGHLzeQZxQGqxQJy163aSHXVJnHbgCb53vffml4WKihlt5%2Fproperties%2Funit-selection%3Fsearch_stay_dates%3D%257B%2522checkInDate%2522%253A%25222027-10-23%2522%252C%2522checkOutDate%2522%253A%25222027-10-29%2522%257D%26search_occupancies%3D%255B%257B%2522numberOfAdults%2522%253A2%252C%2522children%2522%253A%255B%255D%257D%255D|target:_blank” el_class=”tealbtn generalbtn”][vc_btn title=”Essential Booking Information” style=”custom” custom_text=”#666666″ css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fiona.org.uk%2Fvisit-and-stay%2Fiona-abbey-essential-booking-information-2026%2F|target:_blank” el_class=”tealoutlinebtn generalbtn rightbtn”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:November Work Week 2027
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]\n\nAt this time of year\, staff team and volunteers help to restore the Abbey after a busy season. This is a week for energetic people who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. Work Weeks are designed for guests aged 18 and over. \nGuests on work week participate in the rhythm and routine of work and worship in community.  Work for a typical day might include gardening\, basic DIY\, cleaning and moving objects and materials for worship between the Abbey church and the Michael Chapel. \nPrevious work week participants describe the wonderful energy of working together in a ‘common task’\, using their varied gifts. This is a fun-filled week with a ceilidh\, free time to explore Iona and lots of laughs. \nAccommodation will be offered as single occupancy rooms at Iona Abbey. \nWe also have a work week in March as we prepare the Abbey for the season. \n  \nCosts \n\n6 Nights: This week is offered at a discounted rate of £600 per adult\, £300 concession.\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”Book Here” style=”custom” custom_text=”#666666″ css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbooking-directly.com%2Fwidgets%2FZ8ayvaEvw2SsrbCpGHLzeQZxQGqxQJy163aSHXVJnHbgCb53vffml4WKihlt5%2Fproperties%2Funit-selection%3Fsearch_stay_dates%3D%257B%2522checkInDate%2522%253A%25222027-10-30%2522%252C%2522checkOutDate%2522%253A%25222027-11-05%2522%257D%26search_occupancies%3D%255B%257B%2522numberOfAdults%2522%253A2%252C%2522children%2522%253A%255B%255D%257D%255D|target:_blank|rel:nofollow” el_class=”tealbtn generalbtn”][vc_btn title=”Essential Booking Information” style=”custom” custom_text=”#666666″ css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fiona.org.uk%2Fvisit-and-stay%2Fiona-abbey-essential-booking-information-2026%2F|target:_blank” el_class=”tealoutlinebtn generalbtn rightbtn”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
