DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] People\, Place and Spirituality 23rd – 29th August 2025 \nHow do places shape our spirituality?  \nSet against the backdrop of Iona in late summer\, this programme is for those who are curious about the spaces we inhabit.  \nJoin us for week of exploration when we will explore how people in the past viewed the landscapes within which they lived. We’ll consider how they marked those places\, endowing special places with both meaning and mythology. And how people today\, of widely differing faiths\, create physical and spiritual maps which fill their lived landscapes with meaning.     \nWe’ll have the opportunity to learn from history and archaeology. We’ll create maps of our own inner and outer landscapes to help us renew our commitment of care for the land upon which we live.  \nProgramme leader \n\nDr Julian Richards is an archaeologist\, writer and former broadcaster on both BBC radio and television (‘Meet the Ancestors’). His specialities are in early prehistory and monastic archaeology.
