The Abbey is currently closed to residential guests.  Public worship continues daily in the Abbey Church.

The Community Shop is currently open on Fridays at 11am to 12pm for customers to collect their Abbey bread orders.  When the island is again open to visitors, the shop is usually open Monday to Saturday 10.30am – 4.00pm. We are exploring the possibility of some online trading from the shop.

Historic Environment Scotland closed all their historic sites to public access in March 2020. This included Iona Abbey.

The small resident group whose home the Abbey is continues to pray the Daily Office. They also have a weekly service of prayers for healing which are available via our Facebook page.  If you would like names to be included in this service, please contact [email protected] The Iona Prayer Circle continues to offer prayer through its dispersed online network of intercessors.  HES is re-opening some of its sites, but at the moment this does not include Iona Abbey.

Internet on Iona.  We currently have limited internet access in our Welcome Centre offices.

Abbey Re-opening Event: this has been postponed from last year and we hope to celebrate the re-opening of the refurbished Abbey during 2021.
