We are full Members, Associate Members, and Staff Members, Volunteers and Friends of the Iona Community. What we share, expressed in many different ways, is an experience of the liberating power of Jesus Christ, and a commitment to the personal and social transformation that spring from the vision and values of the gospel.

Members share a common Rule and meet regularly throughout the year in local groups and in plenary gatherings, including a week on Iona.

Become part of our movement

We invite you to join the Iona Community and so become part of a wider movement seeking a more just and equal society, a fairer, more sustainable way of living on the Earth, and a progressive renewal of the Church and its worship.

Join the Young Adults’ Group

The Iona Community Young Adults’ Group is a dispersed group aged roughly between 18 and 30 with a passion for justice and peace, who wish to explore what it means to belong to the Iona Community. They follow a Commitment similar to the Members’ Rule, and together explore spirituality and faith, actively campaign for social justice and are committed to the work and ethos of the Iona Community. The group communicates regularly over social media and have monthly online meetings focussing on a variety of topics. Some YAG members may have a view to become an Associate or a Member in the future, but this is not true for everyone. The Young Adults’ Group welcomes all young adults who have heard about the Iona Community through any means and want to explore it further.

Members of the Young Adults’ Group receive the same information as Associates.

Associates of over two years’ standing are eligible to apply to join the 2 year New Members’ Programme with a view to becoming a full Member.  Please bear in mind that this is a demanding commitment – including of time for meeting regularly with other Members.   As well as bearing in mind the Rule (details above), we encourage you to read the New Members' guidelines as part of your discernment.  For practical and environmental reasons we do not accept people onto the new members programme who live outside of mainland Europe.
