Your donations help

The Iona Community will use your donations to create a more just and equal society, a fairer more sustainable way of living on the earth and a progressive renewal of the Church and its worship.

Your gifts are critical to the ongoing effectiveness and vision of:

  • Unlocked

Covid-19 has left many families and the vulnerable more isolated than usual. Young people have endured immense isolation and pressure to reframe their lives in a turbulent world. Our Unlocked programme prioritises those who have been ‘locked in’ or ‘locked down’ with mental illness, isolation, or in situations of poverty or abuse. Donating to Unlocked will pay for accommodation on Iona for families locked in during covid, and will support young people to volunteer at our islands centres. This is a partnership project with Church Action on Poverty, the Poverty Truth Network, Faith in Community Scotland and the Church of Scotland Priority Areas Team.

  • Our work with young people

We stand alongside young people as they explore “life in all its fullness” through personal and faith growth, outdoor adventure and social and political engagement. Our Camas centre offers a safe space for adventure and community building for the most vulnerable. Our ‘unlocked’ programme prioritises the needs of young people providing routes to volunteering with us.

  • Our resources and publications

Wild Goose Publications and the Wild Goose Resource Group produce new worship and other resources and empowering local faith communities.

  • Our Island Centres

We bring people from different backgrounds and with different perspectives together to explore common life and faith.

With a legacy

For the Iona Community, legacies are an enormous source of encouragement and help. They help to finance the many aspects of the Community’s work. And they also help to provide the opportunity for others to share in the vision that the Community represents to so many. A legacy to the Community not only helps in the present work but is an investment for the future, allowing for effective planning and development of new areas of service.  Click here for more detail.
