Keep hope alive: leave a legacy to the Iona Community
In our lives together as Members and Associate Members and Friends we choose to be rooted in hope and to live in community. Through our actions – individually and as a community – we believe that peace and justice will blossom and that we have a role to play in its fruition.
We believe that hope is an action, a choice, a common task, an everlasting joy.
By leaving a gift to the Iona Community, you can help keep hope alive.
Writing your Will
Thank you for considering the Iona Community in your Will. Writing a Will is the only way you can ensure that your wishes for the people and causes you care about are carried out after you die. Leaving a gift in your Will is a personal and legal commitment.
We are not able to provide legal advice but encourage you to contact your solicitor for guidance about writing or updating your Will.

What types of gift can I leave?
- A specific gift is any personal item and might also include royalties, property or shares.
- A pecuniary gift is a sum of money. Due to inflation, pecuniary gifts can depreciate in value.
- A residuary gift is a percentage of what’s left of your estate once your other wishes have been carried out. Even a gift of 1% can make a huge difference to the Iona Community.
