VISIT & SHOP
Staff at our Shop and Welcome Centre (opposite the Abbey) will offer you a warm welcome when you visit. They are there to answer your questions, share information, and serve you through our shop.
SHOP & WELCOME CENTRE
Winter Opening Times:
Monday – Friday: 10:30am – 4:00pm (Closed for lunch 1:00 – 1:30pm)
Closed for stocktake: Thursday 23rd – Wednesday 29th November. We will also be closed on Monday 18th December.
The Iona Community Shop is located across the road from Iona Abbey, within the Welcome Centre, and is well-signposted. We look forward to welcoming you whether you are looking for information at the Welcome Centre, or want to browse the wide range of books and products in our Shop.
We hold a range of excellent books that include the Iona Abbey Worship Book, Wild Goose Publications (and music), Scottish history, geography and literature, and children’s books, along with locally hand-crafted gifts, Celtic jewellery, sacramental items, pilgrimage guides, clothing, maps and cards.
Our literature, crafts and other products reflect the Iona Community’s fair trade and local trade ethos. We take great care to source our products from a range of small locally-run businesses where possible, and fair trade organisations.
All profits benefit the work we do on Iona, Mull and the wider community.
We also sell hot and cold drinks, snacks and the famous Iona Abbey Bread and home-baking.
In 2014 the Scottish Government introduced a requirement to charge for bags. As part of our commitment to action for justice and peace and care for the environment, we fully support this requirement. The net proceeds of this charge are directed to our Access Fund.
