An Intimate Evening with … Mark Burrows

road going into the distance with tall thin treeMark Burrows is an academic theologian and published poet as fluent in German as in the American English which is his native tongue. He contributes to and edits poetry magazines as well as being an avid translator of texts from German into English.

In recent years he has published acclaimed translations of Meister Eckhart’s Book of the Heart, Rainer Maria Rilke’s Prayers of a Young Poet, and 99 Psalms by the German-Iranian poet Said.

His own most recent publication, The Chance of Home comes with commendations from a wide range of specialists including Professors Edward Clarke (Oxford University) and Don Saliers (Emory University, USA).

He will engage in conversation about his work as well as reading it.
