HOLY CITY: Columba Of Iona

This evening – the last in the current Holy City’s 2015-16 ‘The Gap’ season – will be a commemoration and celebration of the life and insights of Columba of Iona – prophet, politician and priest.

Discover or be reminded anew of this intriguing man – a lover of beauty in nature and in culture; a lover of people in all their diversities; a lover of peace and the tough road towards it; penitent sinner and controversial saint; a fox and dove of the church; a white martyr and tireless missionary; above all, a disciple, servant and friend of Jesus Christ.

The evening will start with a liturgy celebrating the saint’s life, followed by a time of convivial nonsense and delectation in a nearby hostelry.
