An Art and Prayer Workshop Day led by Carol Marples
What is an Art and Prayer workshop day and who is it for?
It combines practical artwork, image, music, silence and word. All are welcome and no artistic experience is needed.
The workshop is not about learning to draw or paint, but about exploring how to use art as tool to listen and pray in a non-verbal way.
During ‘Touch The Earth Lightly’ sharing reflections on the theme and the work of the day will be encouraged, but no one will be forced to speak if they feel uncomfortable.
The workshop will reflect how we are touched by Creation, celebrating this wonderful world that we have been gifted while noting the traces and marks our lives leave upon it for good or ill, something that is particularly important in this time of climate crisis.
The workshop is lead by Carol Marples, artist and development worker for the Soul Marks Trust.
Carol has been leading workshops, including art and prayer days such as this, in Scotland and beyond for nearly twenty years.
Participants are encouraged to arrive well in time for the start. Coffee and tea will be provided 20 minutes prior to the workshop beginning. The workshop will start at 10.00am sharp.
