Time and Space

13 March 2027 @ 4:00 pm - 19 March 2027 @ 9:00 am
Time and Space 13 to 19 March 2027

About the programme

Time and Space is a gentle Iona Abbey pilgrimage experience offering space to rest, reconnect, and step away from daily life. For some, it will feel like a quiet retreat in the UK. For others, it is an Iona retreat rooted in community, worship and the shared rhythm of Abbey life.

You will share in the life of the Abbey through worship, conversation and guided reflections, alongside time on your own. Some people come for stillness and rest, while others come for community and connection.

Set on the Isle of Iona, this retreat in Scotland gives you time to explore the island’s wild landscape, or simply pause and be.

Meet the Programme Leader(s)

Your week will be guided by members of the Iona Abbey team, who hold the rhythm of community life, worship and shared activities throughout your stay.

What to expect

Each day follows a gentle rhythm of work, rest and worship.

You will have the opportunity to take part in guided reflections, small group conversations and the weekly pilgrimage on Iona. There is also plenty of time to walk, rest, pray or simply be.

This is a retreat with community, so you will share meals in the refectory and take part in simple shared tasks alongside other guests. These small rhythms help shape the life of the community during your stay.

Worship in the Abbey Church is at the heart of each day, and you are warmly invited to take part. For those seeking a reflective experience or a Christian pilgrimage experience in the UK, Time and Space offers a gentle pattern of belonging, rest and renewal.
