weeWONDERBOX: Strangers & Friends – Education For Peace

13 March 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

A necessary process for achieving peace in the Middle East?

What kind of education do we need to enhance the flourishing of humanity? What does this mean for The Middle East?

In this joint weeWONDERBOX and Craighead Conversation, Professor Bart McGettrick will suggest that we need to move from ideas of protest, divestment and sanctions to processes driven by hope, justice and love.

Professor McGettrick is Chair of The Board of Regents of Bethlehem University, and he serves on a number of committees related to The Holy Land. He was Dean of Education at Glasgow University and at Liverpool Hope University.

The talk will be followed by discussion.

This is the latest in a series of weeWONDERBOX Strangers & Friends series; as well as that of the current Craighead Conversations, ‘What’s faith got to do with it?’. These are open to all, inviting us to reflect on key public issues and to ask: what does this mean for an understanding of faith and what actions will take us to a more just society?

The Craighead Conversations sessions in 2017 focus on the theme ‘Building Bridges’. Speakers will address where there are signs of hope through people reaching across divides to build a better world.
