PROGRAMME
Groups at Camas
Our team will agree with you in advance a programme to meet your needs. Camas staff include skilled and experienced youth workers, environmental and outdoor activities facilitators, and staff skilled in the art of reflection, finding quiet in each day. Our high staff/guest ratio, welcoming and hospitable atmosphere, and stunning location mean that days at Camas are unforgettable.
While at Camas, your group will experience:
- a week of nurturing outdoor and community experiences for young people and adults
- a safe, caring environment with flexible programmes to meet your needs
- a range of activities to build confidence and community including: kayaking and raft building; rock climbing and abseiling; forest, forage & nature connecting (John Muir Award available); wild camping; coasteering; low level hill walking and beach trips; art, crafts, drama and music; solo and group reflections; time in the kitchen and gardens;
- All guests join us in ‘getting stuff done’ (GSDs) which includes washing up and taking care of the centre
- Our days are rounded off by candlelit suppers, time for reflection, and evenings by the fire.
Individuals and Families at Camas:
We have weeks throughout the year when you don’t have to be part of a group to enjoy Camas. These weeks provide:
- An opportunity to relax, get away from it all and enjoy simple living
- Beautiful wilderness surroundings which provide breathing space away from the busyness of normal life
- An experience of community living with all meals provided and time to reflect both with the community and individually
- The chance to explore the local environment through a range of exciting activities and in-depth nature connection
- A flexible approach which enables individuals to have their own experiences while feeling cared for in community.
We aim to support those from marginalised backgrounds. Bursaries to subsidise residential and travel costs are available.
