Candles for peace
Nightly at 7pm
Iona Community Members will be lighting candles each night to call for peace from all sides in Israel/Palestine.
You’ll find prayer resources on our website.
The second Advent Candle
The second Advent Candle in the Christian tradition, is often known as the Bethlehem Candle. In solidarity with Christians around the world, we will leave the second candle left unlit in 2023. Find out more about how and why your church community might leave the second candle unlit on the URC website.
Bright star-maker God
Bright star-maker God,
travel with us
through Advent
shine into our
dark corners
lead us into
ways of justice
warm us
with joy and wonder
bring us
to new birth.
