SOS: Song Of Songs in 60 Minutes

This evening will be an opportunity to celebrate a book rather than share formal worship. It will be a liturgical installation which reflects the seldom-read Biblical book of the Song of Songs (or of Solomon).

There will be freedom to come and go as you wish, but more importantly, encouragement to engage with this often forgotten text in an experiential rather than a purely cognitive way.

There is no formal running order. For an hour – or as much of the hour as you wish – you are invited to make the space your own, to walk around, to sit and read, to see, listen, sing, pray, meditate, write, paint, taste and touch in various parts of the building.

SOS is an ongoing liturgical intervention created by the Wild Goose Resource Group. Tonight we are delighted to be collaborating in making it happen with Edinburgh’s excellent and lovely Nitekirk folk.
