Declan Byrne

I am new to this Deputy Cook role and look forward to the season ahead, growing in experience and meeting new people who will call the Abbey their home.

I am originally from Co Armagh in Ireland and have lived on Iona since 2017, when I first came to the island to work with the Iona Community for six months. Since then, I have worked in hospitality on the Island in various places and in the local primary school. Before coming to Iona, I was involved in the youth and community work in Belfast.

What makes you laugh out loud – I am easily entertained but appreciate a dry wit.
