Hello everyone out there. I am currently managing the Iona Community’s Shop on Iona, with the help of our wonderful Assistant Shop Manager, Sarah, and a team of great volunteers. Come and visit me in the shop and say hello.
Biography
I first came to Iona from across the equator to work as a volunteer in the Shop in 2018 for 3 weeks, returned in 2019 for 3 months, and ended up here in 2020 for 3 years (and no, I don’t think I have 3 decades left in me for Iona!).
I usually live in the warmer climes of sunny Australia, but do have a bit of Scottish heritage (my mother was a Robertson), which may account for my love of the colder weather here, and the addiction to cold sea swimming with Ionan friends.
I also love walking, reading and hanging out with people, and have enjoyed my 2 years on Iona as Shop Manager, getting to know the local residents as well as many Iona Community members and co-workers.
What makes me laugh out loud is people with slightly bizarre and quirky senses of humour. What moves me at my deepest level is kindness.
