Role
My role is to jointly manage and maintain the gardens across the properties on Iona and Mull, which includes the small gardens in the grounds of the Iona Abbey and the various properties on Iona, plus the organic garden and woodland at Camas. Talk to me about anything to do with gardening and sustainability.
Biography
I am an experienced gardener and have pursued organic and sustainable gardening methods for twenty years. I trained on the job at two formal gardens, have been involved in numerous charitable roles and also work as a commercial manager in the energy & water sectors. More importantly, I am a parent who has travelled the sustainability journey to changed behaviours. Touching the soil and working with the miracle of plants reconnects us with our environment and creator and encourages us to admire, appreciate and fall in love with them more.
What makes me laugh out loud is camaraderie and banter within the company of good friends. What moves me at my deepest level is injustice.
