A Community Member since 2002, prior to which I was appointed its first Support Services Manager in 1993. A Quantity Surveyor by profession, in 1979 I was appointed by The Church of Scotland to serve the Churches in Malawi assisting with their country wide building developments and, in 1986, until 1993, was relocated to Israel/Palestine to support the CoS’s work in the region. In 1998, I returned to the CoS’s World Mission Council and appointed as an “Area Secretary” with responsibility for aspects of its work overseas, firstly in Sub-Saharan Africa and, latterly, in Israel/Palestine. An Elder of The Church of Scotland, in these changing times I have a keen concern for its ministry and mission both at home and overseas.
What moves me at my deepest level are the times I consider and reflect on the state of the world and society which our grandchildren and their children will inherit from me and my generation.
