I only met Peter twice. He was very knowledgeable and passionate, yet down to earth and caring. My prayers for the Iona Community for both your recent losses.

  2. Sally Beaumont says:

    so, so, sad.

  3. We are all here, as dutch members, very touched.
For us on the continent Peter was a very interested and stimulating leader I think. His several visits to our meetings were very helpfull. So we get more connected to each other, and he invited us warmly to speak in the meetings and share in the services on Iona.
(Beside that we could talk about the very important developments in…. football. When he visited our home he looked with our girls tot the dutch competition and never forgot there names. Maybe little things in this world, but it typify I think his broad and lively intentions. We won’t forget and pray in the Netherlands too for Lesley, Callum and Lorn.

A wonderful tribute Teun. Loved the thought of Peter sitting and talking/watching football with your daughters and yes, what a lovely example of ‘his broad and lively intentions’. Thank you for your solidarity and prayers in this season of grief.

  5. Erik Kindem says:

Our deepest condolences at the loss of dearest Peter Macdonald! Our family had the tremendous gift of spending Holy Week on Iona in 2014, including time with both Peter and Leslie; a time of deep blessing for us. Though our family was only with the community for a matter of days, his vibrant, powerful, grounded and passionate spirit enlivened and inspired us on the deepest way, and we have always remained profoundly grateful for that time we had together. Please know that we are holding Peter’s family, and all of the Iona community, in our grieving hearts and prayers. May you feel God’s comforting presence with you during this sorrowful time! The Kindem Family (Erik, Chris, Kai, Naomi), Seattle, USA

Erik, thank you for this lovely tribute to Peter – ‘vibrant, powerful, grounded and passionate’ are all such apt words to describe him; thank you too for standing with Peter’s family and Community in this season of grief – we treasure your prayers. Pat
